Creative Pursuits Studio is an educational and artistic space for students of all genres, skill levels and abilities. It is a place for each individual to expand their horizons and reach their full artistic potential. Students will grow quickly while being exposed to workshops, classes and private lessons all centered on the student's individual needs.
Marissa LaBant Flute Instructor
Private Rates: $50 - 60 min, $40 - 45 min, $50 - 60 min
Marissa LaBant, flutist, earned a BM in flute performance from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University and an MA in flute performance from New York University. She has had the opportunity to study professionally with Robert Dick, Laurie Sokoloff and Keith Underwood. A central Pennsylvania native, Marissa began serious flute studies in high school with Mary Hannigan of the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra.
Performing has afforded Ms. LaBant the opportunity to share her music in several diverse venues; from one of her most recent performances as a flute soloist in the Gracias Convoca Arts Festival in Gracias, Lempira, Honduras; to performing with the Avanti Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.; to playing chamber music in local arts spaces, such as the Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center and the Susquehanna Art Museum. Marissa has also attended and performed in The Aspen Music Festival, The Penns Woods Music Festival, The Geneva International Masterclass Series with Marina Piccinini, the Gezmataz Festival in Genoa, Italy and at the Rocky Ridge Music Center in Estes Park, Colorado.
Ms. LaBant enjoys sharing the joys of music with people of all ages, taking an independent approach with each student. Students of all levels are encouraged to sign up for lessons and should feel free to bring any pieces, etudes or method books on which they are currently working, if applicable.
